Valentino had no hand in designing the new Valentino collection

Valentino had no hand in designing the new Valentino collection

Valentino would like everyone to know that he had no involvement in designing the Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli collection. It seems even though he has been retired for about a year, there is speculation that he has been still actively influencing the collections. "If I decide to attend the presentation of their collection, it will only be as a supporter of two people I love and who have been close to me for many years," he said. Looks like they will be hanging around alot longer than Alessandra Facchinetti, for suuure!

Ferruccio Pozzoni Out at Valentino

Menswear designer Ferruccio Pozzoni has left his position at Valentino after management decided not to renew his consultancy contract. The designer is now following in former designer of the same label Alessandra Facchinett's footsteps, which are right out the door.

Valentino will not present its menswear collection at Fashion Week

Valentino will not present its menswear collection at Fashion Week

It's been recently reported by WWD that Valentino's menswear collection will be absent at Fashion Week. The fashion house who is known for its presentations in Paris or Milan will opt for commercial appointments only. It leaves many to wonder if Valentino has fallen victim to the economy bug that has bitten quite a few labels recently. Whatever the reason may be, it's comforting to know that Balmain, Balenciaga and Roland Mouret are still on track to deliver.
